WINDOWS XP MODE WINDOWS 7 PRO INSTALL
The Parsons Moneycounts program is the only old program that I currently use that doesn't install on Win 7 properly. Oh, the XP Pro is a fully licensed version. I am stunned by the performance and capabilities. Until now, Win 7 was just an improved Vista or XP Pro. Until the last twenty-four hours, I thought those Win 7 advertisements on television were corny.
WINDOWS XP MODE WINDOWS 7 PRO UPDATE
Also, you have to update it (the XP Pro machine) just like a normal XP Pro install, provide antivirus, etc, because you are running XP, just in a window in Win 7. It doesn't blink or even slowdown when running XP mode alongside the ten or so other applications running in Win 7. I just built my current pc in May with MSI K9N2 Diamond motherboard, AMD Phenom X4 processor, 2 - 1 TB sata hard drives, and 4 GB ram. Windows Virtual PC provides an app to check your hardware for conformance to their requirements. There are some special processor requirements necessary to run Windows virtual (PC's) machines. So, what's the catch? I think older pc's will not be capable of running Win 7 and XP mode due to the demands on the hardware and various software/hardware requirements. It also sets up all hardware to work seamlessly with XP Pro and Win 7. Then, it sets up a virtual machine that allows you to run XP Professional in a window in Win 7.
What XP mode appears to be is this: the install repartitions about 125 GB (at least on my setup) of hard drive and installs XP Professional w/ SP3 within. Then I drug-out the old HP PSC1350 driver/software v3.5 and installed that. I didn't verify any other operations.) (If it wasn't for Outlook, I would be using WP8's CorelCentral. (Well, they started up and closed properly.
Then I drug-out my old cd and updates for WP 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 and installed them all. It works! And it prints to the old HP PSC1350 printer. Then I installed old Parsons Moneycounts 9.0 program that refused to install in my Win 7 (64 bit) Ultimate system. Yesterday, I installed the XP mode following MicroSoft's instructions at this site: XP Mode under Windows 7 Pro? was the original topic, but the real question is does WP 5.1 run under it?
